Our history is full of unsolved mysteries that have somehow stood the test of time and are still relevant today. The same history contains millions of unsung heroes, deeds of valor, and wonders who aren’t of this world no more. As a species, we take great pride in our intelligence and our ability to solve even the toughest riddles we discover.
Regardless of how far we’ve come, and how much knowledgeable we are now compared to how we were just a few centuries ago, there are still plenty mysteries we haven’t yet unraveled. Here is a list of ten of the greatest mysteries that are unsolved to this day.
6The Tomb of Alexander the Great
Alexander the Great died in Babylon, but the location of his tomb is unknown. At one point, Alexander’s coffin was intercepted by Ptolemy on its way to Greece and buried in Alexandria. Great men visited his tomb for centuries, up until a few hundreds of years ago. It seems that Alexander’s tomb has been lost and nobody can tell where to start looking for it. According to some, he is buried under a Coptic church, but nobody knows for sure.
