We all like fast cars to some extent, because what’s not to like about sports cars engineered to reach speeds most of us will never experience outside an airplane? Speaking of which, there are many ways to measure automotive excellence, yet speed is the one attribute everybody cares about. As you may have already imagined, most of these cars are beyond expensive, out of reach for most individuals in the world today actually.
Still, their mechanical excellence makes them sought after and it would be fair for us to at least take note of what the fastest cars in the world are at this point in time. Without further ado, here are the world’s 10 fastest cars at the moment.
10McLaren P1 – 217 mph
The McLaren P1 has a 3.8 liter McLaren M838TQ twin-turbo 3.8 L V8 – 903 hp engine, capable of accelerating from 0 to 62 mph in just 2.8 seconds. Its transmission is a 7-speed dual clutch and its top speed is 217 mph, which is around 350 km/h. This extremely powerful car was introduced in 2014 and it was advertised as providing a driving experience far greater than the pleasure of driving it at its maximum speed. Seeing how the McLaren P1 costs around $1.2 million, we’ll just have to take their word for it.
