This painting by Paul Cézanne was sold at an auction in New York on May 10, 1999 to The Whitneys, which are one of the wealthiest families in America. Although the painting was later resold at a loss, the price of this painting is nothing short of amazing. As for the painting itself, it came to be between 1893 and 1894, and was famous over the years because of how well it expressed Cézanne’s talent for drawing still life.
