This particular animal gets its nickname from the fact that it will quite literally run on water when it has to. As a matter of fact, it can only runĀ on water for a maximum of 40 feet before sinking. It can swim, though, as it spends most of its life by the water. It also spends a lot of time hunting for food or basking in the sun like most lizards. Native to the rainforests of Central and South America, this is without a doubt one of the strangest lizards in the world.
