According to the myth, doppelgangers are paranormal duplicates of real people who manifest themselves either consciously and willingly, or by chance when you least expect them. Spiritual people throughout time have seen doppelgangers as either spiritual copies of people or demonic twins at times, each manifesting themselves in situations where their presence would either help or inconvenience the person experiencing the issue.

10Catherine The Great
Everybody has heard about Catherine The Great, the mighty Empress of Russia and one of the most powerful women in history. Few people know, however, that Catherine had to confront her doppelganger not once but a couple of times, the last of these episodes being definitely the weirdest. It is said that she caught her doppelganger sitting comfortably on her throne, which prompted her to order her sentries to shoot the ghostly apparition. We couldn’t tell you if the bullets hit something or not, but Catherine did, unfortunately, die soon after this strange event.
