It has to be said that some of the items on the following list are quite useful and unique while others are only popular because of how bizarre and appealing they sound. 8Magic 8 Ball
Who would have guessed that a fortune telling die would end up on this list? This Seer device was the “genius” idea of Abe Bookman and Albert Carter. Over the years, it has changed in shape and appearance and today, it is represented by a sphere which surrounds a tube filled with alcohol and dye. The 20 sided die is supposed to predict and foretell the future – though this is “not certain” and is obviously “doubtful”. Its rise to fame was no doubt aided by Brunswick Billiards promotion from Chicago and a people caught in the 1950s fortune telling craze.
